Fountain is one sculpture made from a wooden fence post, cut into sections and reconnected with hinges. Smaller blue-die pieces link to one another alongside a longer section left in its natural wood. The post, once intended to stand fixed in the ground, becomes an articulated form capable of many arrangements.

The title Fountain and the blue color may invite us to imagine flow within something solid. But rather than describing a fountain literally, the work allows a possibility of movement while standing still. What once marked a boundary, a fence post, now opens into a playful negotiation between connection and a playful version of something that once was supposed to be static, now taking other shapes.

Fountain, 2026, 24×14×9.5in, reclaimed wood from fence post, wood dye, hinges, screws
