By deconstructing a chair, I remove its function in order to reveal the relational logic that holds it together. The object no longer operates as a chair, but its fragments continue to speak to one another and to those who look at them, carrying the memory of a whole that can only be seen through its breakage. It is here that the connection between the object and human ideas becomes visible: through the hands that made it to the projections it invites. This vast constellation of possible relations goes far beyond a simple object.
